Mental Health Professional

Position Overview and Description

Serenity Inns Treatment Center and Drop-in Clinic is seeking an experienced and dedicated Mental Health Professional to provide daily mental health services. The Mental Health Professional will be responsible for providing coordinated and concurrent services for the treatment of individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders.

The ideal candidate will hold a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license and be able to supervise interns.

    • Provide coordinated and concurrent services for the treatment of individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders.

    • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

    • Offer individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, and family therapy sessions as needed.

    • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure the integration of mental health and clinical services.

    • Offer crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support to clients experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges.

    • Supervise interns and provide guidance and mentorship as needed.

    • Participate in the development and implementation of program enhancements and quality improvement initiatives.

    • Be available for on-call emergency consultation and guidance to the clinical team.

    • Represent Serenity Inns Drop-in Clinic and Treatment Center positively in the community and maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Executive Director.

    • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin.

    • Ability to supervise interns.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field of mental health or addiction treatment.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.

    • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization.

    • This position operates in both a residential treatment facility and drop-in clinic, and requires interaction with clients in various stages of recovery.

    • The Mental Health Professional may be exposed to emotionally challenging and potentially volatile situations.

    • The role may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends to accommodate client needs and staff schedules.

Substance Abuse Counselor

Serenity Inns Drop-in Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for providing counseling, support, and guidance to individuals seeking recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in our drop-in clinic and residential treatment program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction treatment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.

    • Conduct individual counseling sessions, group therapy sessions, and family therapy sessions for clients in the residential treatment program and the drop-in clinic.

    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

    • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.

    • Facilitate therapeutic groups and educational workshops on topics related to Substance Use Disorder, mental health, and life skills development.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, therapists, peer support specialists, and house managers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for clients.

    • Conduct initial assessments, screenings, and ongoing evaluations to monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

    • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support to clients experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges.

    • Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including maintaining client confidentiality and boundaries, and practicing within the scope of licensure and certification.

    • Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional development and ensure adherence to best practices in addiction treatment.

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of program enhancements, quality improvement initiatives, and cultural competence efforts to better meet the needs of diverse client populations.

    • Represent Serenity Inns Drop-in Clinic and Treatment Center positively in the community and maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

    • Associate's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.

    • Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SACIT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) licensure in the state of Wisconsin.

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of addiction treatment or related mental health services.

    • Strong understanding of addiction, recovery, and evidence-based practices in Substance Use Disorder treatment.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

    • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed.

Resident Assistant

Serenity Inns Residential Treatment Center is seeking a dedicated and responsible Resident Assistant to join our team. The Resident Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our residential treatment facility.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CBRF training, or be willing to complete training within 30 days of employment. The Resident Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for our clients as they progress through their recovery journey.

    • Oversee the daily operations of the residential facility, ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all clients. 

    • Supervise residents in completing household chores to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. 

    • Address any facility-related issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients and staff. 

    • Implement and enforce Serenity Inns Residential Treatment Center's policies and procedures to maintain a structured and therapeutic environment. 

    • Monitor client behavior and interactions, providing support and guidance as needed. Coordinate client transportation as needed, ensuring timely and safe arrivals and departures. 

    • Communicate effectively with the clinical team, providing updates on client behavior, incidents, and any other relevant information. 

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including incident reports, client logs, and daily shift reports. 

    • Serve as a positive role model for clients, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect at all times. 

    • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support to clients experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges. 

    • Participate in the development and implementation of program enhancements and quality improvement initiatives. 

    • Assist with client orientation to the program and client census process

    • Assist in new hire orientation/training 

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Director of Operations.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Completion of CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) training, or willingness to complete training within 30 days of employment.

    • Previous experience in a residential treatment facility or similar setting preferred.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Peer Support Specialist

Serenity Inns Residential Treatment Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team. The Peer Support Specialist will provide peer support and encouragement to clients based on their own experiences in recovery.

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Peer Specialist or have the ability to acquire certification within 6 months of employment. This position offers an opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

    • Provide peer support and encouragement to clients based on personal experiences of recovery.

    • ·Foster a supportive and empowering environment for clients by sharing personal recovery experiences and offering hope and inspiration.

    • Offer guidance and assistance in navigating the treatment process, including accessing resources and services within the community.

    • Serve as a positive role model and source of inspiration for clients on their recovery journey.

    • Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans.

    • Facilitate and co-facilitate peer support groups, focusing on topics related to recovery and coping skills.

    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients and staff.

    • Participate in regular supervision and training to enhance peer support skills and knowledge.

    • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure coordinated care for clients.

    • Document client interactions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.

    • Promote a culture of recovery and wellness within Serenity Inns Treatment Center.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Executive Director.

    •  High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification required, or the ability to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.

    • Must be in recovery from Substance Use Disorder for a minimum of one year.

    • Lived experience with Substance Use Disorder and successful recovery.

    • Strong commitment to the principles of peer support and the recovery model.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.

    • Cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

    • This position operates in a residential treatment facility and requires interaction with clients in various stages of recovery.

    • The Peer Support Specialist may be exposed to emotionally challenging and potentially volatile situations.

    • The role may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends to accommodate client needs and staff schedules.
